Families Build Community Saskatoon has given my family a home and a high quality of life. My grandfather established Cherry Insurance in 1945 and we’ve been a part of this community ever since. That’s why we’re working to make a difference and to give something back. Cherry Insurance gives over $30,000 in annual support to dozens of organizations and events across Saskatchewan. We maintain community development in education, safety, sports and with local charities. Read more below about how we help build community … one person at a time.

Saskatoon Community Foundation Scott and Connie Cherry have been donors to the Saskatoon Community Foundation for over 15 years. Making Saskatoon the best community in which to live is the Foundation’s vision. This involves distributing grants to charitable organizations who work to enhance quality of life through a wide variety of projects – adult literacy, community theatre, youth initiatives, hunger programs and other areas of need. The Cherrys give to the Foundation in many ways. The Cherry Family Fund is one legacy where interest from the fund is currently allocated to areas of urgent need within the Foundation. A designated purpose for the fund will be determined in the future. Scott and Connie also support of the Foundation’s Batting 1000 Youth Advisory Council as it makes grants to support programs for children and youth. This innovative development initiative lets donors make a sizeable gift by arranging an interest-free loan of between $1,000 and $5,000 with Affinity Credit Union. The loan can be repaid over a period of up to three years. Scott Cherry also supports the Foundation as a volunteer on their Board of Directors. Coming up with new ways to encourage donations and grow the Foundation’s endowment is an ongoing challenge, but for Scott it all comes down to the one-on-one sales call and continuing to build community relationships. The Jim Underhill Memorial Golf Tournament All donations will go to the Jim Underhill Memorial Fund that was recently established at the Saskatoon Community Foundation.
